I started building this cedar lined chest on March 6th, 2008 for my son Chris and finished it April 8th, 2008. The chest is made out of walnut for the base cabinet and ash was used for the raised panels which actually raise about one quarter of an inch above the base cabinet.
Parts are in the glue up clamps to keep them from warping while doing other work

The lid has wet Danish oil (it shines)
The box was in Danish oiled the day before and has the satin finish that the box will be until it has the polyurethane gloss finish put on.
